June Newsletter
June has to be that special month with the on-set of summer approaching (great time to be drinking wine), Father’s Day, and spending time at the lake. I don’t recall too many bugs and the days aren’t to hot so it is just a great time for that backyard BBQ with a nice glass of wine.
I’ve scheduled some fun events for this month so make sure you save the dates for a special evening.
If you’re thinking of hosting a wine tasting party with your friends let me know so we can schedule a date. If you want to have a fun and exciting tasting, I can help you with the planning. I don’t have many dates open in June but call and we can schedule a time just for you.
The best day in June has to be Father’s Day! The sizzling chops or the smell of the steak coming off the grill, then to be enjoyed with a great bottle of Cabernet, Malbec or Pinot Noir. Oh what a day it is!
_Winery of the Month:A winery many of you maybe familiar with, and one I elected to showcase has some luxury reserve wines to go along with their outstanding classic series of wines. Clos Du Bois crafted its first vintage in 1974 from 520 acres of grapes in Sonoma County’s then little-known Alexander Valley. Since that time the Alexander Valley has become one of the world’s most prestigious wine producing regions. Founder Frank Woods recognized the potential of Sonoma County as a world-class wine growing region, even though Sonoma County was better known for its prunes, walnuts and dairy farms than for its wine grapes. Clos Du Bois: all the French you need to know! Classics Series Known for their exceptional white wines these fine wines are rooted in Sonoma County heritage with an elegant, approachable style and flavors that are true to varietal character. Pinot Noir This nuanced, elegant Pinot delivers big on aromatics, kicking things off with layered aromas of vanilla, earth, baking spice, brown sugar, red cherry and rhubarb. On the palate it marries the variety’s signature smooth tannins, silky texture and excellent balance with flavors of cherry, toast, blackberry and a hint of cranberry. Luxury Reserve Grapes for the Sonoma Reserve wines are sourced from specific appellations within Sonoma County. The primary focus is on the Russian River and Alexander Valleys. These iconic appellations are known for producing certain varietals that best reveal the special characteristics that make each appellation unique. R.R. Reserve Chardonnay The intense fruit-forward flavors are bright and juicy with ripe apples, pears and fig, highlighted by nuances of toffee and vanilla. Barrel aged to give it a creamy mouthfeel. Alexander Valley Reserve Cabernet Brimming with lush velvety blackberry and vanilla flavors, this Reserve Cabernet exhibits rich aromas of black cherry, with the round and supple tannins typical of Alexander Valley. It is plush and smooth on the palate with perfectly integrated oak. Super Luxury Proprietary Calcaire Chardonnay Produced in limited quantities, this wine embodies the best fruit of the Russian River Valley. A truly exceptional wine tasting experience. |
