July-what a special month: first full month of Summer and we’re celebrating one of my favorite holidays on the 4th. It’s a time when we can get together with friends in the backyard and drink some incredible wines either for grilling or just relaxation. It doesn’t get any better when you’re celebrating the 4th with friends and family!
If you made it to one of our June tastings WOW did we have some excellent blends. Those reds were just outstanding wines. I’ll have more coming in this month so watch for the tasting and I might slip in one of the blends for you.
July is a good time to get away for a week or a long weekend; make sure you stop in for all your refreshments beverages for your trip. We’ll have your favorite cordials, margaritas, mudslides, vodka and gin to cap off your night. Check our beer selection from the micro breweries and your favorite Bud, Miller, Coors, Keystone and Busch and at some attractive prices. Remember we have ICE!!
Also in July for our third Summer Happening Event , we’ll be offering special drinks. Be watching for more information or stop in the store and I’ll explain this special event.

Winery of the Month: Campus Oaks WinesWebpage - Facebook
The wines of Campus Oaks were handcrafted by Gnekow Family Winery. The winery was founded upon two essential principles; first-handcraft quality wines that represent exceptional values by applying Old and New World winemaking techniques to the grapes and second- create wines that would be fun and exciting! Their signature wine became “Old Vine” Zinfandel, which was crafted from their 80+ year old vineyards and has consistently won Gold Medals every year since it’s initial harvest in 1997. Old Vine Zinfandel- Sourced from four blocks of vineyards which average 80+ years of age, this Zinfandel delivers a great nose of raspberries and cherries, followed by jammy fruit on the palate with a hint of vanilla wrapped in oak, ending in a silky smooth finish. It received a gold medal-best of class under $20.00 and a gold medal at the San Francisco Int’l Wine Competition. SPECIAL $14.99!! Cabernet- It has a nice steady cherry color. This Cabernet boasts a strong nose of ripe red berries with hints of pepper. It has an intense mouth feel of blackcurrant and cassis. Notes of vanilla and mixed spices are also present. It is ready to be enjoyed now with supple, fruit forward body. 100% Cabernet from Lodi. SPECIAL $10.99!! Merlot-this lovely California Merlot fruit delivers forward notes of cherry-spice and mixed berries. It is wrapped in velvet creamy vanillin tone brought together by careful aging in American oak barrels for 12 months. Merlot, while similar in flavor to Cabernet, usually is less tannic and astringent and therefore, is easier to drink at a relatively young age. A variety of foods pair well with Merlot. SPECIAL $10.99!! Chardonnay- blended from cool California grapes and barrel fermented fruit right from their own estate, this wine is well balanced with forward green apples and lemon notes, leading to a crisp, clean and refreshing finish.
